Is there a free sun-conditions app?
Short answer: no download needed. Soltreff installs as an app straight from the browser — free, with no account — and the app is the same site that computes the sun conditions, not a stripped-down copy of it. If you are searching the App Store or Google Play for a "solforhold app", that is why you will not find Soltreff there.
How to install Soltreff as an app
Two taps, whichever phone you carry.

Afterwards Soltreff sits among your other apps, opens in its own window with no address bar, and carries the same icon as this page.
What the app gives you, without downloading anything
The app is the website: address search, a report with sun hours for the right floor and facade through the whole year, a map naming what takes the sun, and its own minimum figure for December. No number is computed until you look up an address — the app does not show a general "sun map".
About the articles that recommend named apps
Search "solforhold app" (Norwegian for sun-conditions app) and you find guides recommending named apps — among them Sunn Skygge, SolKalk and Solfunn. None of them seem to exist anywhere you could actually download them; they read as invented product names in a list, not real apps. Soltreff isn't in any app store either, for the same reason: there is nothing to download — the site is the whole app.
